Criminal Law
Joseph DiPiazza serves as presiding judge of the West Valley Regional Veterans Court, an outpatient treatment court offering services to veterans who come in contact with the criminal justice system in 10 cities and towns west of Phoenix. Initially launched at Glendale City Court, this regional Veterans Treatment Court expanded in January 2022.
Plaintiff Green Stripe, Inc. (“Green Stripe”) is a Pennsylvania corporation that markets and distributes fresh produce worldwide. Berny’s Internacionale S.A. de C.V. (“Berny’s”) is a Mexican corporation; during the relevant timeframe, all shares were registered to Christopher DiPiazza and Bernardo Gomez, Jose Gomez’s minor son, who represented him. From the evidence, Christopher DiPiazza effectively owned all his shares through Green Stripe. In contrast, all of Berny’s shares were controlled by Jose Gomez, acting on behalf of Bernardo Gomez who exercised extensive control over farming operations and financial matters at Berny’s.
