Avram Hornik, owner of Philadelphia hotspots Morgan’s Pier and Juno, is expanding his luxury dining offerings on the Main Line with a sprawling restaurant named after an iconic Kinks song in Suburban Square. His new project boasts both indoor and covered outdoor seating areas.

The Menu

Lola’s Garden in Suburban Square of Ardmore will bring marvelous excitement. Situated in its 2,500-square-foot outdoor space with a trellis and bar, Lola’s offers indoor and covered outdoor dining for 70 people in an open kitchen.

FCM Hospitality’s menu offers modern American cuisine inspired by chef-driven cuisine and seasonal local offerings, led by Executive Chef Greg Vassos of Racine BYOB in Pottstown, where daily changing four-course menus feature produce from nearby farms. He previously worked at Logan Inn New Hope and Logan Circle DC restaurants.

He will bring his extensive food scene experience and knowledge of Philadelphia restaurants such as Morgan’s Pier, Juno, Rosy’s Taco Bar Parks on Tap, and Craft Hall when Lola’s Garden opens later this year under restaurateur Avram Hornik. Hornik owns many Philadelphia area eateries, such as Morgan’s Pier, Juno Rosy’s Taco Bar, and Parks On Tap & Craft Hall.

Vassos immediately introduced changes when he assumed Lola’s kitchen control. Where once there had only been limited dishes available, their menu has expanded dramatically with words like 18-hour braised short rib with carrot emulsion and seared New Jersey scallops served with mushrooms and caramelized cauliflower puree, among many others.

At the core of every menu item are high-quality ingredients sourced locally; many vegetables and meats come from farmers, while bread comes from an Ardmore bakery. Cocktails made with local spirits and beer from all Pennsylvania labels round out this dining experience.

Service was impeccable without intrusive, while patio seating provided a comfortable dining experience. Their wine list focuses heavily on organic and natural wines for easy perusing.

As well as offering a selection of non-alcoholic drinks – great for health reasons or simply refreshing them up! Cocktails such as Where’s Samantha? and Rusty Hart can also be found. Additionally, gluten-free diners have options, including salads and fried chicken sandwiches, to enjoy their dining experience here.
