Currently, DEO CONNECT is not available for use. This is due to the fact that DEO is still working on reemployment assistance program updates. In the meantime, you may be able to get information on the program by calling the reemployment assistance office at 888-526-4386.
Currently, CONNECT is unavailable, as the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity has announced the shutdown of its Reemployment Assistance Program customer service center. However, there are ways to apply for the program and access your account if you have already created a profile. If you haven’t already registered for the site, you can do so by visiting the Department of Economic Opportunity’s Mobile Friendly Claim Site.
Once you have a username and password, you can log in to your REAP account using your Social Security Number or PIN. If you have an account, you can also check on your monetary status. In addition, you can get information on the program, such as what forms you need to complete. You can also contact the REAP help center if you have any questions.
If you’re a new claimant, you’ll need to create a profile and apply for reemployment assistance. During the application process, you’ll need to answer a few questions to verify your identity. If you don’t know your login credentials, you can use the “Forgot UserID?” link on the website.
Continuing its mission to protect Floridians from overpayments, the Florida Department of Employment Opportunity (DEO) has decided to take a gander at the overpayment jumbo jar. The department hopes to make good on its commitment to restoring confidence in the program by issuing overpayment determinations for the Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation (FPUC) and the Lost Wages Assistance (LWA) programs.
The Department of Employment Solutions’ (DES) Division of Employment Services (DES) is well-equipped to handle these requests. The DES will be reviewing each application on a case-by-case basis, and will likely suspend recovery activities for eligible overpayments upon receipt of a waiver application. DES is anticipating a high volume of waiver applications, which should be a boon to the program’s operations. DES will be working closely with the FPUC and LWA programs to make sure these applicants are able to continue their reemployment path as smoothly as possible. Those in the know have been tipped off to a special portal that will allow ineligible CONNECT applications to be reviewed and approved.
Applicants applying for unemployment benefits in the state of Florida are required to provide details about their work search. This information is documented on the Work Search Record form. The form is a mandatory document and must be retained for five years. It should contain details about the type of work search, the date and method of contact, and the results of that contact.
The Department of Economic Opportunity, or DEO, has a website to assist claimants with their Reemployment Assistance. The site contains a Work Search Form and other related materials. This form is designed to help claimants keep track of their weekly work search activities. It also includes a video tutorial on how to complete the form.
The work search is not an exact science. Depending on your income, you may or may not need to provide detail about your job search. Nevertheless, the department encourages claimants to make the effort to report their work search activities.
